Jim Posted October 13, 2005 at 10:43 AM Report Posted October 13, 2005 at 10:43 AM I thought this was great Jieming. Well done. I've posted it to a community link site I belong to to share there too. Quote
in_lab Posted October 14, 2005 at 02:21 AM Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 02:21 AM That's really interesting Jieming. Do you have any plans to make a functional, full-scale recreation of any of the weapons? If you did, then you could add some field-testing photos. If you don't decide to do that, that's still a great piece of work. Quote
Liang Jieming Posted October 14, 2005 at 03:04 AM Author Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 03:04 AM Hehe thanks guys. Hopefully I'll get a simplified chinese version of the site up soon. Trying to finish up the English version first though. Full sized version? Hmmm... I did consider it but never seriously. It's too difficult to do anything out of the ordinary here in Singapore. Will need tons of permits, from the Police to National Parks Board. hahaha Maybe. I'd love to try building a full scaled version. Quote
roddy Posted October 14, 2005 at 03:09 AM Report Posted October 14, 2005 at 03:09 AM Very impressive work. I reckon, if you build it FIRST, and then ask about the permits, they'll be too scared to argue . . . Roddy Quote
Liang Jieming Posted October 26, 2005 at 04:31 AM Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 at 04:31 AM Ok, did a final update before I leave on my holiday. Was rushing because I promised my cousin in London a copy of my latest draft. I've more or less grouped all the components that will go into the book as chapters, and posted what I've could in terms of images and text until I can follow up with proper articles and writings to fill these chapters. Hope you like it. ;) It'll be the last update in awhile until I return. Cheers, Jieming Quote
Liang Jieming Posted November 18, 2005 at 10:52 AM Author Report Posted November 18, 2005 at 10:52 AM I'm back. I've posted new updates on info gathered while in Europe, especially from the British Museum. Some of the areas updated and expanded include the Assyrian Wall Reliefs, South Asian Catapults and pre-columbian American catapults. Cheers, Jieming Quote
Liang Jieming Posted December 1, 2005 at 03:31 AM Author Report Posted December 1, 2005 at 03:31 AM Just an update. I've started construction of the Tang/Song SiJiao Pao. As usual, like my earlier models, a running commentary as I build it can be found here in either one of these thread; http://forums.shadowedrealm.com/index.php?showtopic=443 http://www.chinahistoryforum.com/index.php?showtopic=7447 Have fun.
