It is strange that most of these popular writers, except 賈平凹 and 余秋雨, have been popular since I was a kid.

I enjoy reading 金庸 (1), 余秋雨 (9) and 曹雪芹 (10). And I finished reading all the books written by 瓊瑤 (4) when I was a teenager and have never wanted to read them again since.

Start with 山居筆記, then 行者無疆, then 千年一嘆, then 文化苦旅. Decide if you like him or not after these. (He is a big target for different kinds of criticism, like this.)

I don't think I've read any of 賈平凹's works.
