itang_hiu Posted September 9, 2006 at 11:29 AM Report Share Posted September 9, 2006 at 11:29 AM Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce the release of the free software MyChineseFlashCards version 2.0. This new version includes the following features : * the user can search key words in the "meaning", "pinyin", "commentary" or "memorizing tips" fields, * the user can choose the chinese character font, * 100 characters added ( 700 in all) , * the user interface has been completely redesigned to be more user-friendly and intuitive. The goal of MyChineseFlashCards is to ease the visual and auditive memorization of the 1000 most used chinese characters. To reach that goal, MyChineseFlashcards allows the user to : *learn characters with the flash cards method (3 learning mode : masked character, masked meaning, no masking), * see the flash cards in random , ascending, descending order, * find a character by seeing all the characters of the dictionary under one or two dimensions, * search key words in the "pinyin", commentary, "meaning" or "memorizing tip" fields, * filter the characters, using one of the 31 available filters (radical, non radical, pictogram, index range, etc), * get statistics on characters. The software is available in French, Chinese, English, German, Italian and Spanish. You can run it on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. You can donwload it at http://myflashcards.sourceforge.net/. freefall Posted September 21, 2006 at 03:44 AM Report Share Posted September 21, 2006 at 03:44 AM nice software, but the characters are tiny and do not fill up the white box on my system (winxp, J2SE 5.0 update 6). Can I fix this?
bogleg Posted September 22, 2006 at 10:22 PM Report Share Posted September 22, 2006 at 10:22 PM I saw this too, but I think you just have to change the font. Just go to the Settings tab and change the font from there. The default one for me was Batang, which I changed to SimSun. Seems to work better.
