RobAnt Posted September 11, 2006 at 01:15 AM Report Posted September 11, 2006 at 01:15 AM Just a heads up to note that two exceptionally useful Chinese Language and Culture programme series are being broadcast on BBC2 on Monday Night/Tuesday Morning here in the UK in their entirety 01:00am Real Chinese - Click Here for the BBC's Interactive Real Chinese Website Perfect for absolute newbies, and the video material is really helpful. Followed immediately by 03:30am China Close Up. This programme is more cultural information, with somewhat less language instruction, but is interesting none-the-less. They are very well worth recording, but note that they are broadcast from 01:00am until about 06:00am in the morning, so you'll need to put the VHS recorder on "LONG PLAY" to record the whole lot. But, it really is worth it. The website is worth visiting too. I did ask the BBC if they had plans to put them on DVD, but they don't at the moment, so the only way to see them is by staying up all night, or recording them. You could do what I might do, which is to record them to your PC or Personal Video Recorder (a video recorder based around a large computer hard drive). Happy viewing! Quote
