Hi

Can anyone recommend the best place to have travellers cheques exchanged near BLCU??The obvious answer is the bank of course, I'll be trying there tomorrow but I'm doubtful whether thry'll help me if I dont have an account with them.

Thanks in advance for ur help :)

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China which is in the same building where you pay your tuition at the BLCU changed a stack of travellers cheques for me in February this year when I didn't have an account with them.

Go try there.

If they insist that you have an account, it might be something to consider since it takes 5 minutes and no id.

As an aside, the queues around 12:30 are horrendous. Try early morning or later afternoon.

You don't need an account to cash travellers cheques. They'll charge a commission (the exchange rate is so good so I wouldn't worry about that) and give you cash.
