Contract Translation Resources

Hello, apparently hell is about to freeze over because somehow I have gotten suckered into doing some bit of dreaded dull contract translation. Are there any good references that have a Chinese English version of this, or just a website with this type of law/contract terminology. It's not that complicated of a contract for anyone is somewhat familiar with contracts, so I am pretty sure some generic English/Chinese translations must be out there that I can use as reference material. This is just fairly basic type of 代理招商合作协议书.....

No. Translate it yourself. Nobody has already done my work for me and put it online, so why should you get off :tong

Deep breath, I'll pm you a section of what I'm translating so you can see why I'm allowed to be in a foul mood.

I've never come across anything reliable enough to be worth bookmarking. You occassionally can get versions of standard official contracts - government mandated stuff usually - but in all honesty it doesn't mean the translations are any good and a company I used to work for used to recommend retranslating them, despite in one case being responsible for the 'official' translation.

If a Google / Baidu doesn't turn anything up, you're probably out of luck I'm afraid.

I'm not putting that stuff on the interwebnet either!

I've been translating the same document twice a year for the last six years for the same local government dept. and receiving a generous reward twice a year for accessing "My Documents" and reprinting.

You want me to screw that up?!? That's a lot of beer and noodles!

(Sorry got to go to retranslate the Mayor's speech for tomorrow's National Day banquet. Same as last year with a few adjusted figures!)

this is a very good service. I'm an immigration lawyer in Los Angeles and I've used them before. There is a simple English-Mandarin translation service that is free, but for some services you have to pay. Check them out either way. I have used both the free translator and I have also purchased their legal contract translation service, both of which I am very pleased with. Good luck!

Thanks guys!

I actually forgot I posted this a few weeks ago before the 10-1 holiday. Yeah, It turned out to be one of those projects I started to work on and then got it cut and changed a billion times.... but has now resurfaced, so I shall be making use of those links and resources supplied.

Don't worry I wasn't looking for any quick answers or to copy or anything terrible like that, just asking for some resources since I think that contract language sounds a little bit more formal and, well, 'legal'.

Ok, thanks again! If I do happen to find anything worth bookmarking I will mention it.
