skylee Posted March 7, 2004 at 08:58 AM Report Posted March 7, 2004 at 08:58 AM These two little pink pigs are the most successful comic characters of HK. Created by 謝立文 and 麥家碧 originally for a children's magazine called Yellow Bus, the two pigs gained much popularity among the parents of the magazine's target readers and have become sort of "icons" in HK. Some people even find their "philoshophy" appealing. And nowadays their merchandises are everywhere. The success has also brought to the writers other opportunities. The recent talk of the town (well one of them) is 麥家碧's very lovely snails created for the HK International Film Festival. The comics itself is quite colloquial and I think those who are not HK locals might sometimes find it hard to understand (e.g. you wouldn't know why the songs they sing are funny unless you sang the same songs when you were a kid). I wonder if people elsewhere also know about them. I notice that there are many fan sites in simplified Chinese. Here is a cute one. Quote
