owshawng Posted October 5, 2006 at 12:27 PM Report Posted October 5, 2006 at 12:27 PM Ethiopean food. I was really hesitant to try it, but once I did I loved it and would go back to that restaurant at least once a month. Quote
hkkevin Posted October 7, 2006 at 12:56 AM Report Posted October 7, 2006 at 12:56 AM what about fried insects? I tried this in Beijing, Guangzhou and Bangkok. I've heard that there's a special cheese in the western world. Worms crawl across the cheese, and people eat them all together. How you call this kind of cheese? Quote

Madot Posted October 7, 2006 at 01:21 PM Report Posted October 7, 2006 at 01:21 PM In a Yunnan restaurant I had "double boiled beef penis soup". Yum. But my daughter lived in Laos for 5 years and ate virtually everything that moves--BBQ bat, rat, squirrel, chicken embryos, snake, insects, silk worms... YUK! No wonder they've invented that sinus-searing h-o-t chilli dipping sauce they use on everything... Mado Quote
wiz_oz Posted October 10, 2006 at 11:13 PM Report Posted October 10, 2006 at 11:13 PM The Australian Commonwealth Coat of Arm has a kangaroo and an emu. Once in a an outback bistro, had a mixed grill comprising kangaroo, emu and camel steak. I do not think there are many out there who had eaten their national symbols in one go. In Laos, had cow's uterus soup once. Yum...... Quote
