Ferno Posted October 12, 2006 at 01:46 PM Report Posted October 12, 2006 at 01:46 PM anyone know how to do it? Quote
johnmck Posted October 12, 2006 at 05:16 PM Report Posted October 12, 2006 at 05:16 PM I have same problem. I have worked around it by downloading chinese fonts from the web and using free software for character input and then cut-and-pasting. You can get the free software such as DimSum (this software really is fantastic) and MSword pinyin macros at: www.mandarintools.com Alternatively you can always use a web based tool for input such as: http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/webime2.php?ime=mand_eng_simp (this one is nice for beginners because it gives you the meaning of the character in English before you choose it.) Battosai Posted October 15, 2006 at 12:57 PM Report Posted October 15, 2006 at 12:57 PM I'm not sure but it is quite possible that Windows Office CD has the files you need . (I read it on a windows forum) but, you must know someone who has an XP CD , ask him/her to borrow it for a few minutes...any XP disc will do , no matter what version or language. Quote
freefall Posted October 19, 2006 at 03:39 AM Report Posted October 19, 2006 at 03:39 AM You can use bittorrent to download the windows xp installation files and then point the East-Asian installer to them. That's what I did and it worked like a charm. Try searching thepiratebay.org or similar for "windows xp". Disclaimer: I don't think this is illegal if you already own windows... use your good judgement. Quote
