lollypop Posted October 13, 2006 at 08:16 PM Report Posted October 13, 2006 at 08:16 PM Hi All Just returned from a fantastic time in China. I wonder if anyone can shed a little light on this for me please. Our guide in Bejing gave us his e mail address for us to keep in contact. We have e mailed him but it keeps being returned as "undeliverable" - it looks as though his address goes like this ...... @sohu.com Do I need to put cn at the end of his e mail address ? or is it that Chinese e mail servers wont accept e mails from UK ??? Help please and Thanks .... Quote
darkprince Posted October 14, 2006 at 05:00 AM Report Posted October 14, 2006 at 05:00 AM humm.... From what i see, their MX records are pointing to a server called sohumx which has the ip 61.135.132.100. I've tried connecting to this server from both an austrlian server and an american server and seems to work fine. What error are you getting back ? Can you paste the full error message. Quote

lollypop Posted October 15, 2006 at 10:10 AM Author Report Posted October 15, 2006 at 10:10 AM Hi guys Thanks so much for replying so quickly. I have pasted the error message below... see what you think of it. Also, our Guide Glenn wrote his e mail address down for us in a little book of Traditional Chinese Festivals, he gave to us as a gift as we loved all the stories he was telling us - so, I dont think he got his own e mail wrong. - Maybe its disconntinued or something. You know, we had a such a great time in Beijing (our first time in China) - we were only there for 4 days, but Glenn ensured we saw everything, learned all about Chinese culture, and kept us safe. He was truely a nice guy. 61.135.132.100 failed after I sent the message. mind_wander Posted October 16, 2006 at 02:47 AM Report Posted October 16, 2006 at 02:47 AM Yeah, I did have the same problem also, but it was another email address to @tom.com. I understand it is from a chinese email website. For some reason, I used a hotmail.com to send email to @tom.com in Beijing, it came out as an error. Quote
