yonitabonita Posted October 28, 2006 at 03:58 PM Report Posted October 28, 2006 at 03:58 PM Hi folks Very random question here, but does anyone have any idea where to get a sugar thermometer in Beijing? I need a thermometer that can withstand heat of about 180 degrees fahrenheit. I'm thinking that a scientific instruments supplies store would be the way to go. Maybe at a university where there's a chemistry faculty - but more concrete info would be great. Thanks, Yonitabonita Quote
trevelyan Posted October 28, 2006 at 05:17 PM Report Posted October 28, 2006 at 05:17 PM There *used* to be a LOT of industrial cooking stores down near the Gulou area. A lot of these have disappeared as the place has developed and gone upscale, but there are still a couple. These are the places that sell ovens and kitchenware to restaurants. You might want to try there the next time you're in the neighbourhood. If I remember correctly, there is still a pretty big place on the east side of the street just south of the Drum Tower. Quote
