Jonny Wang Posted November 2, 2006 at 01:19 AM Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 at 01:19 AM I'm trying out the new website for the first time and am having trouble with the news feature. When I click on a headline, a page with the article title opens. I then click the "Adsotate full article" or whatever the link says. The page reloads but there is no more of the article displayed than before. What gives? I'm not a member and am using Firefox. Anything related to these? trevelyan Posted November 2, 2006 at 08:25 AM Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 at 08:25 AM Looks like something funny is going on.... not being a member should not affect viewing texts or being able to reannotate them. It just provides access to the recordings, private vocabulary lists, lessons and display options. I think what is happening is that some of the earlier "fixes" I made to the PHP script (responsible for server instability it seems) are somehow preventing reannotation from working properly. The only other possibility is that Xinhua has changed the way they format all of the articles on their site, and our screen-scraping scripts need to be updated. I'm at work right now, but will take a closer look tonight to try and get this all solved. Aarrgh!
