Stefani Posted November 8, 2006 at 02:46 AM Report Posted November 8, 2006 at 02:46 AM Hello, My son goes to a Mandarin Chinese daycare part time, and I am slowly learning Mandarin (using Pimsleur and attending a week-end Chinese Conversation class). My son is 3 years old. In two or 3 years, I would like to possibly take him to China, and enroll him in a Chinese kindergarten, and maybe I will attend language school as well (or attend with him). At what age do Chinese student start formal schooling? Here in the US it is at age 5, for 1 year of Kindergarten, and then 1st grade, etc. Where do I start to look for such a thing? We will probably only be able to be there for a month or so. My hope is that the full immersion will bring up his speech skills to his Chinese peers, and improve his reading & writing. Thank you.
