mr.stinky Posted November 12, 2006 at 04:15 AM Report Posted November 12, 2006 at 04:15 AM no, the qq registration does not work. if you really want it, you need to go to one of the mirror qq sites, download and register from there. i think the one in south africa is currently working. Quote
flameproof Posted November 19, 2006 at 02:54 AM Report Posted November 19, 2006 at 02:54 AM All you need to know you will find here: http://qq.bur.st English (or whatever) Xp is fine. Maybe next week I do a trial using QQ in Ubuntu using GAIM. After a first look at Ubuntu I got rid of one Windows PC. Quote
babygodzilla Posted November 29, 2006 at 04:51 PM Report Posted November 29, 2006 at 04:51 PM anyone tried QQ yet? first of all the programming I think is horrible. the menu is just not intuitive, and badly designed. second of all, does anyone know why my installation is not working? i can never sign in, always get the Unable to Connect message, or Server unreachable, or something like that. ideas? i cant login either. i got my QQ from the site mentioned above, the english version. i always get server unreachable or something like that. flameproof Posted November 30, 2006 at 12:29 AM Report Posted November 30, 2006 at 12:29 AM I use QQ for a year now. Still English Xp home. No problem here. Sure, it's badly designed, as everything in/from China. Specially annoying are the chatroom QQ is selling room-ID to Sex Spam which you can't block. So sometimes 50-80% of messages are Sex related, asking you to visit some web sites. They also got annoying word block filter. Currently i.e. you can not use the word "hat" in the rooms for whatever reason. Login should be no problem though. Are you behind a router or firewall? That's usually where the login problems come from. Quote
Jekai Posted November 30, 2006 at 02:55 AM Report Posted November 30, 2006 at 02:55 AM I downloaded QQ about a week ago, and wow, the registration is a serious pain. qq.bur.st was a real help. I did notice though, that after trying to sign in, I would get disconnected and given an error message. Along with the message was a URL to follow where you had to put in the answers to your secret questions. Hopefully you used real answers, not just random keymashes like I did the first time. Anyway, after that, I never had a problem signing in. I guess after you register, you need to prove you registered. Seems like an extra and pointless step. Hope this helps you Quote
