katafei Posted November 18, 2006 at 02:30 PM Report Posted November 18, 2006 at 02:30 PM Hello all, If you were to congratulate a couple with their marriage, which would be more appropriate: 祝贺,or: gong xi gong xi (somehow I can't copy and paste the kanji) Thanks in advance, Marian Quote
skylee Posted November 19, 2006 at 01:06 PM Report Posted November 19, 2006 at 01:06 PM Say gongxi gongxi. The chinese characters (not kanji) are 恭喜恭喜. Quote
katafei Posted November 19, 2006 at 02:17 PM Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 at 02:17 PM Hi Skylee, Thanks for your answer! I was hoping it would be this set of characters (and not Kanji, sorry, I'm mostly in Japanese mode:D ) as I find them the most beautiful. By the way, I've been to a performance of Utheatre in France last week, and it was as you said, very impressive. For me, at first, it was less easy to feel the spiritual side due to the restless martial art energy of the Shaolin (who were very spectacular). But then I had the story explained to me and when I saw a second performance the next day, it really swept me away. I especially loved the dance with the gongs, which was also a favourite part in 'The Sound of the Ocean", a show that I've been lucky enough to have seen about 7 times! It was great to see the U people again and to hear the wonderful, powerful sound of the drums. Actually, there will be a film based on the u people, called 'The Drummer'. http://www.kenbiroli.com/drummer/info.html Quote
