jeffofarabia Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:37 AM Report Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:37 AM Okay, I have written here for some time about coming to Kunming. I am going to have to tell my boss next week if I decide to leave. So I am a little anxious. I need to work, but I think I have saved enough for next year. So that is the first thing. Please wish me nice thoughts. secondly, and this will sound silly: can I buy a heater in Kunming? It seems a little chilly there. I don't want to freeze all winter. Thanks, Jeff Quote
mr.stinky Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:52 AM Report Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:52 AM erectlic prug-in heaters'll run you 400-900 rmb at carrefour or gome. the big'un is a massive 2200 watts, and comes with h2o humidifier tankette, remote control, and a handy-dandy sock-drying rack. Quote
Xiao Kui Posted November 21, 2006 at 05:42 AM Report Posted November 21, 2006 at 05:42 AM may i suggest a wool blanket/comforter from Walmart or carrefoure for 100-150, that way you don't have to run your heater all nite and get a big electricity bill. just heat your room for a 30 minutes or an hour before you go to bed. In KM the weather is warm if it's day and sunny, cold if it's rainy, cloudy, or night time. In the day it's often colder indoors that outdoors. Quote
skylee Posted November 21, 2006 at 01:21 PM Report Posted November 21, 2006 at 01:21 PM Or perhaps a hot water bottle? I used to use a hot water bottle. Now when it is cold I just boil some water in the electric kettle and then hold the kettle in my arms. Quote
HashiriKata Posted November 21, 2006 at 01:38 PM Report Posted November 21, 2006 at 01:38 PM I just boil some water in the electric kettle and then hold the kettle in my arms. But don't go to bed with it, or you'll get scalded (scolded. ) Quote
