Ian_Lee Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:51 PM Report Posted November 20, 2006 at 08:51 PM Hardly anybody remembers that once there had been many Chinese immigrants in India. In a town called Tangra, there were 350,000 Chinese residents before the Sino-Indian border war in 1962. Read: http://www.indiaenews.com/india/20061120/29334.htm Quote
smalltownfart Posted November 21, 2006 at 12:22 AM Report Posted November 21, 2006 at 12:22 AM There are quite a few Chinese-Indians in Toronto. I've met one personally, who speaks Cantonese quite fluently. She apparently speaks fluent Hindi. There is an area of Toronto (Scarborough) where there are many Chinese restaurants opened to cater to the local Indian population. The menu is a bit strange (to my eyes). For example, some fried noodle and vegetable dishes have a bright unnatural radioactive red-pink color, I am pretty sure they can glow in the dark. Naturally, there are also more spicy dishes, and everything is served with plates and forks+spoons by default. Quote
