Learning through a game is great idea! Id like to see an old school 'mud' for this same purpose - learning, questing, fighting, collecing items, and all using Mandarin, but with the added bonus of it being multiplayer.

Cantr is an online MUD looking for more players in its Chinese region. Most of the current player base is North Americans brushing up on their writing and comprehension, but there is a growing base of native speakers from Asia as well. A few of the translations are still off, but players are encouraged to report errors on the forums for correction.
