my friend is trying to look for a directory of businesses in China. she's trying to find a factory that makes air compressors. is there a kind of White Pages in China? online would be even better since she's not currently in China.

To find suppliers, look on the Web (alibaba.com; made-in-china.com) and attend tradeshows-they're usally free (there is a good calendar at www.global-sources.com).
