orientalsoul Posted December 3, 2006 at 02:19 AM Report Posted December 3, 2006 at 02:19 AM Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm doing a research paper on a Chinese Warlord in Canton (1928-36) named Chen Jitong. I was hoping the folks on this forum could help direct me to books with his written history (English). The thrust of my thesis is that Chen Jitong's rule was characterized by "Dual-Motive" principles, meaning his authority encompassed not only control and power (ego motive), but also public service and "caring" for the welfare of his subjects (empathy motive). He was actually my paternal grandfather, so my interest is a personal one as well as academic. Whatever help you folks could give me is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Quote
