eion_padraig Posted March 16, 2004 at 02:27 AM Report Posted March 16, 2004 at 02:27 AM Hey, so I've really improved my vocabulary a lot through text messaging in Chinese, but I'm wondering whether there are folks out there who have done chatting on-line to practice. Obviously there are lots of folks online in China who do this. My question to others is how useful is the language that they are using. In English, there is so much informal use of language and abbreviation that the things you would learn would not be useful in spoken or other reading settings. Generally speaking, is the same true for Chinese chat rooms and ICQ, QQ? Eion Quote

Guest jelly Posted March 17, 2004 at 12:58 PM Report Posted March 17, 2004 at 12:58 PM people use spoken language to chat on QQ, BUT this kind of chinese seems not formal in writing. Quote
