Christmas Events?

so like what's people on doing on or around Christmas in Beijing? any ideas for a fun night out with friends? events to attend, shows to see? maybe even something a little romantic? i have nothing planned, and i dont want to have a boring xmas...

I've got class ....

I was considering going dressed as Santa Claus but finding an outfit is proving difficult.

yea ok ive got class too... but come on!! its xmas!! there must be something special to be done on xmas besides goin to class...

You could have a "traditional" Christmas dinner surrounded by bored and lonely expats in a 5-star hotel somewhere.

Or you could grab a load of friends and have Beijing Kaoya, pulling crackers and wearing silly hats to confuse the locals. That's my plan. I'm sure many pubs and clubs will have something special on; they have the advantage that, unlike the UK, they won't need to pay double or triple rates to the staff.

You could have a bet with friends on how many seconds you'd last, standing in Tiananmen Square with a portable megaphone preaching bits of the bible, dressed as Jesus.

adrianlondon, I once saw a youtube video of a bunch of expats dressed up as Santas riding a subway to Tiananmen to sing carols, but security stopped them from entering the square.
