chimera Posted December 5, 2006 at 11:27 PM Report Posted December 5, 2006 at 11:27 PM The river "Yalu" on North Korea's border is a Manchu word, meaning "terrain", I believe. This comes from Mongol language, and Tocharian "yalu" from Sinkiang means "deer". The deer are symbols of good fortune and the gods, and deer or goat horns are on "qilin" sacred mythic animal of prosperity. The sacred goat of Assyria was "yalu", and the Scythians had only 1 temple , the sacrifice shrine of the war-goat Ares. The Mongol "cham" meaning a tent of goat-wool>"Khan" (Jinghiz Khan) meaning "ruler, lord" and may be Japanese "kami"="shen". Jap."kamedan"= "shendai">"Shinto" of Japan. Is the Mongol "yalu" a word that means land, territory of the sacred goat / deer? chimera Quote
