oulaian Posted December 6, 2006 at 03:34 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2006 at 03:34 AM I just got off the phone with them asking various questions about the program they offer. They mentioned a textbook called (I think) fazhan (发展?)hanyu (汉语)。 Anyone heard of it??
roddy Posted December 6, 2006 at 03:38 AM Report Share Posted December 6, 2006 at 03:38 AM This set? Can't say I've ever used them, or even remember seeing them around - they're from BLCU Press, for what that's worth.
buanryoh Posted December 6, 2006 at 05:51 PM Report Share Posted December 6, 2006 at 05:51 PM I have studied 发展汉语高级上/下 and 发展汉语中级听力。They are actually very good books and worth studying. Each textbook has about 15 lessons and 80 new words per lesson plus explanations of grammar or word usage. If you know about 2000 to 3000 words it's probably suitable for you. pandaxiongmao Posted December 7, 2006 at 08:31 AM Report Share Posted December 7, 2006 at 08:31 AM I've used the 发展汉语中级上 book along with listening tapes that accompany it (to practice reading along with the texts), and feel it is the first "Comprehensive" Chinese text that I felt was good quality and that I learnt from without having to consult other books for additional explanation of grammar/lexis. Mine is from the BLCU.
