Pre-nup

In any Chinese societies, pre-nup is almost unheard of.

But In U.S., I know some Chinese girls who married with White Americans and have signed pre-nup.

I don't know what these girls think. But unless they are desperate to stay in U.S., I don't think there is any reason they should agree to sign those papers.

I read on the paper that the "Hong Kong princess" Alexandra Manley would be given an expensive house/apartment (not sure which) in Copenhagen because this is agreed in pre-nup and the prince would have to sell his own property to pay for it. This has prompted the royal family to change the pre-nup of the crown princess. So perhaps it is not always a bad thing??

Because American women have huge amounts of power in court during divorces.

Not if they have a pre-nup. They have no power over what is his stuff. Those papers, are saying what is his, is his. And what is hers, is hers. So there is no power given the women, in a divorce. That is why men get them to sign it. So that they have no power should they decide to divorce.

A pre-nup is preparing for the end of a marriage, before it can even begin. I would never admit to a pre-nup, and I'm american. I think it is an insult to the arrangement of marrige. I really think that they must be desprate to stay in the US, to sign those papers too.
