kudra Posted December 12, 2006 at 08:13 PM Report Posted December 12, 2006 at 08:13 PM I'm thinking about college level 3rd year books (in the self-study context) Interests: I'd kind of like to work toward being able to read newspapers. On the other hand the prospect of reading Real Literature is also appealing. Probably I'll spend some time on working on Midnight (An Annotated Reader) ISBN: 9CE2180P Cheng and Tsui But regarding newspapers, I would like to know if anyone has used and what they think of the following books: Newspaper Chinese ABC: An Introductory Reader ISBN: 088727059X By Zhenjie Li, Cheng and Tsui Reading Chinese Newspapers Tactics and Skills, ISBN: 0887101658 By Stanley Mickel, Yale Univ. Press New Text for Modern China, A, ISBN: 0887273122 By Liu, Irene and Li, Xiaoqi,Cheng & Tsui Company I already own a copy of A New Text, but I don't mind forking over the price of another of these if it might be interesting. [i realize that certain member(s) will urge me to pay up at textbook.adsotrans.com and learn newspaper reading there -- well that is also possible.] Quote
