Alternative Country/ City names in Chinese

I recently went to Chengdu, which has a new title: Garden of Eden of the East. They've got a bit of a tongue twister there.

Harbin has been variously titled Paris of the East, Moscow of the East, Ice City and Lilac City.

I'm not sure that this constitutes an alternative name, but 和 sometimes also refers to Japan, as in 和服 (kimono).

I have to point out that...

Though 大和 and 倭 share the same pronunciation in Japanese, 倭 in Chinese is a derogatory word for Japan/Japanese.
