Etwood Posted October 9, 2007 at 05:58 AM Report Posted October 9, 2007 at 05:58 AM I'm not sure if this will be helpful in any way, but a friend of mine bought me a listening comprehension course type thing called "Listening to Mandarin: Themes" by Philip Yungkin Lee. It comes with 4 CDs and a workbook and transcript book. The dialogues are read at native speed (or near-native) and the vocab seems quite up to date as well. Anyone else used this? Quote
mirgcire Posted October 9, 2007 at 06:25 AM Report Posted October 9, 2007 at 06:25 AM It looks like this book is published in HK and not available through amazon. Maybe someone else will have better luck finding it. Quote
Wang7 Posted May 21, 2011 at 01:24 AM Report Posted May 21, 2011 at 01:24 AM Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. Like many of you, I too am a self learned studier of Mandarin, and after nine months of consistent (more or less) work, I am ready to improve my listening comprehension at the beginners level.
