Books/Resources about Chinese Administration of Commerce

Recommended Posts

I am trying to understand the administrative powers that govern commerce in China, how they function and what their relations are. Does anybody have any resources and/or books about this issue. I'd prefer a short overview to get an idea, material in Chinese and English is equally welcome.

Of course, there are the webpages of the individual ministries, like the MOFCOM, but what I am missing there is how they interact with other institutions. Plus, they tend to be quite wordy...

Thanks gato! You must have a huge bookmark collection, judging by how promptly you always supply links to queries on these forums...

The first document looks very interesting, I will go through that. The China Law Blog belongs to my favorite readings for quite a while already, it is incredible to see how one man can be so prolific while working full- or overtime!

Yet while both of these are very interesting, they are not quite what I was looking for. I am interested in understanding what governmental institutions pass or amend these regulations. Any material on that out there?

Hehe. It just shows that I've been on the net too much.

I guess you're looking more for poli sci material than law. I was able to find some stuff on scholar.google and books.google using the keywords "mofcom sasac". Since the net's real slow right now, I can't really verify how useful they are.

Yeah, that looks much more like what I'm looking for! Thanks for that!

Stupid not to think of Google Scholar... :x
