gougou Posted December 31, 2006 at 07:43 AM Report Posted December 31, 2006 at 07:43 AM I am trying to understand the administrative powers that govern commerce in China, how they function and what their relations are. Does anybody have any resources and/or books about this issue. I'd prefer a short overview to get an idea, material in Chinese and English is equally welcome. Of course, there are the webpages of the individual ministries, like the MOFCOM, but what I am missing there is how they interact with other institutions. Plus, they tend to be quite wordy... Quote
gato Posted December 31, 2006 at 09:34 AM Report Posted December 31, 2006 at 09:34 AM You can try one of these free online resources (the first is particularly good): http://sitemaker.umich.edu/wangcheng/files/basics_of_ch_business_law__new_.pdf Basics of Chinese Business Law http://www.chinalawblog.com/chinalawblog/2006/12/chinas_service_.html China Law for Business Quote
gougou Posted December 31, 2006 at 09:52 AM Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 at 09:52 AM Thanks gato! You must have a huge bookmark collection, judging by how promptly you always supply links to queries on these forums... The first document looks very interesting, I will go through that. The China Law Blog belongs to my favorite readings for quite a while already, it is incredible to see how one man can be so prolific while working full- or overtime! Yet while both of these are very interesting, they are not quite what I was looking for. I am interested in understanding what governmental institutions pass or amend these regulations. Any material on that out there? Quote
gato Posted December 31, 2006 at 12:39 PM Report Posted December 31, 2006 at 12:39 PM Hehe. It just shows that I've been on the net too much. I guess you're looking more for poli sci material than law. I was able to find some stuff on scholar.google and books.google using the keywords "mofcom sasac". Since the net's real slow right now, I can't really verify how useful they are. See here: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=mofcom+sasac&hl=zh-CN&lr=&btnG=%E6%90%9C%E7%B4%A2&lr= http://www.omm.com/webcode/webdata/content/publications/clp030730.pdf Recent Governments Reorganization in China - 每组 3 个 » S Munro, S Yan - China Law and Police, July, 2003 - omm.com http://www.worldbank.org.cn/english/Content/NE_China_ICA_Feb2006.pdf Facilitating Investment and Innovation E Asia, P Region - worldbank.org.cn http://books.google.com/books?q=mofcom+sasac&btnG=Search+Books&as_brr=0 Quote
