大家好

I know that (明天见) ming2tian1 jian4 means See you tomorrow but what about See you later? Is it just zai4jian4 (再见) or is another phrase better? I want to say that we will see each other later, maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after that, but soon.

谢谢

If the time is unspecified, you should use 再见. If you want to say "See you later" meaning later today, you can also use 待会见。

oh ofcourse everyone in China will know what you mean if you say bye-bye 拜拜 (bai - bai) tones not to important for this.

I was under the impression you can say 过一会儿见 "see you in a little while". Is there anything wrong with that?

Also, the way I understood it 一会儿 would always refer to som time later the same day. Is that correct?

what about See you later?

I think the closest colloquial phase is 回头见.

老李:啊,老杨,去市场买菜啊?

Li: Ho, Yang, are you going to buy some food in the market?

老杨:是啊,老李,咱回头见。

Yang: Indeed, Li, and see you later.

Thanks!
