Free Language Software

Hi Guys,

didn't know exactly where to put this, but I've created some free software that'll help you learn vocabulary.

I've been living in China for about 10 Months now, and am disappointed that there isn't more free software about to assist in learning language, so I decided to write it myself.

It'll let you input & record vocabulary by lesson, and then display the words on-screen (flashcard style), with the abilty to listen to the displayed word.

Furthermore you can also export each lesson to an MP3 & take it with you on an iPod / other Mp3 player.

Also, if you own an iPod Nano, it can export the words as a slideshow to your iPod, so you can use the flashcards on the road.

It's still the early stages, so I'm sure there're still a few bugs in it, however I'll endevour to update & fix based on comments feeded back to me through my contacts page.

Have you try electronic dictionary like "Wen Qu Xing"?

Redact207 - have you seen ZDT? If you can program in Java (i see yuyan is .net) & could add the sound functionality (using MP3s &/ the MS voices) to the ZDT platform as a plugin it would be a great addition.

I'm looking for Ipod nano software to help put vocabulary words (Hanzi, Pinyin, etc). The site www andrewdenhertog com doesn't seem to exist anymore..

I'll try sending a PM also.
