xuechengfeng Posted January 18, 2007 at 09:43 PM Report Posted January 18, 2007 at 09:43 PM I'm taking a flight from Beijing to Qingdao. My friend purchased the ticket for me. He said the flight is through China Air. I'm not sure whether that is Air China or China Airlines. Can anyone help me out? The code for the flight is CA####. Quote
earendil31 Posted January 18, 2007 at 10:12 PM Report Posted January 18, 2007 at 10:12 PM Well, China Airlines is the carrier for Taiwan, so it's probably Air China. Happy Flying! ^_^ Quote

johnd Posted January 19, 2007 at 01:35 AM Report Posted January 19, 2007 at 01:35 AM I don't think you'd find Taiwan's China Airlines landing at any mainland airport. Quote

imron Posted January 19, 2007 at 04:24 AM Report Posted January 19, 2007 at 04:24 AM Perhaps if/when Taiwan stops calling itself the Republic of China they might do that. Quote
xuechengfeng Posted January 19, 2007 at 05:54 AM Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 at 05:54 AM i was talking moreso about the names being similar.. air china, china airlines.. seems like it might cause a little confusion. i'm sure if there was airlines united in the US, people would be confused. 889 Posted January 19, 2007 at 08:08 AM Report Posted January 19, 2007 at 08:08 AM China Airlines was there first. It's been China Airlines since 1959. Air China by contrast is a relative newcomer, comprising the international operations of the old Civil Aviation Administration of China, known as "CAAC." Quote
