SneakyPete Posted February 8, 2007 at 02:31 AM Report Posted February 8, 2007 at 02:31 AM I'm making something for my girlfriend's graduation. She is learning mandarin, and I would like to write something to her in mandarin (not romanized). I've tried searching, but not knowing a thing about the language makes it hard. I'm afraid I'll wind up with something like "I love you like the sweat of a camel" I think she is a member of this board, so I don't want to list any specifics. Please PM me if you can help me out. This is very important to me. Thanks in advance. Quote
Lu Posted February 8, 2007 at 10:47 AM Report Posted February 8, 2007 at 10:47 AM What would you like to write? Congratulations, I love you? I'm sure there are people on this board who can help you. My grandmother did this for my graduation. She ended up writing: 福經 福中國 電郵 ('congratulations with this document; good luck in China; email me when you get there'.) I thought it was extremely sweet, I was so happy with it. And I was glad she had written the translation under it, 'cause it's completely unintelligible to any Chinese :-) Quote
SneakyPete Posted February 8, 2007 at 06:21 PM Author Report Posted February 8, 2007 at 06:21 PM That's the basic Idea. But I don't want to just throw it out on the board, being that it's specific. I don't want her to find out about it. I only have until Monday (I still have to Try to make it look perfect when I try to write it). Any Help??? Thanks Again. Quote
