Well, Quest, at least, it seems that you try to calm down and control yourself.

err.. I've been calm and under control...

No doubt that the population of local Guangzhou people is shrinking, however it is mainly because of the high living cost. Can we say if local Guangzhou people still treat outsiders with hostility and bias, one day our language and culture will finally have the same end like “广陵散”.

That's what a politician would say... I don't agree but anyways...

Most of the new immigrants to Guangzhou aren't "Northerners" per se, but are from Hunan, Sichuan, Jiangxi, and Guangxi, the southern provinces that surround Guangdong.

Maybe you have never heard: "广东人看外地人，都是北方人；上海人看外地人，都是乡下人；北京人看外地人，都是小地方人。"

Do you think it is a right way to deal with social relationships among people from different regions? Do you think this idea can help our society more harmonious? Do you have any good idea to create more chances to avoid people (especially those from different regions) from misunderstanding each other? Do you think you should 雪上加霜 or 雪中送炭?
