gougou Posted February 17, 2007 at 09:30 AM Report Share Posted February 17, 2007 at 09:30 AM You could try the "Corrupted Chinese Email Fixer" at mandarintools.com. The results for the sentence you posted don't make sense to me, though.
Lugubert Posted February 17, 2007 at 12:19 PM Report Share Posted February 17, 2007 at 12:19 PM The first question is, do you know if your e-mail program handles Chinese? Not all do, for example (I think) if they don't do Unicode. Second question, have you checked that the fonts were properly installed? mandarinboy Posted February 18, 2007 at 09:04 AM Report Share Posted February 18, 2007 at 09:04 AM This is an encoding issue. In windows outlook and outlook express is using the same API as IE but you need to do the setting in the program individualy. Yu can change encoding for recevied mails but in your case you also do need to do this for mails not yet recevied. It seems that your program is converting Chinese double byte to ascii. (that is normal) As mentioned in earlier post, this can be fixed with free tools like mandarin tools.
