I dont understand this. I installed eastern language support (I think) and I can see Chinese Characters on forums and shuch but when someone tries to email me it looks like this........

ÒƵѺÃÑÓÐÎÊÒƵѺÃÑÓÐÎÊÒƵѺÃÑÓÐÎÊÅŶ¡£

Can anyone explain whats going on here or how I can fix this?

The first question is, do you know if your e-mail program handles Chinese? Not all do, for example (I think) if they don't do Unicode.

Second question, have you checked that the fonts were properly installed?

This is an encoding issue. In windows outlook and outlook express is using the same API as IE but you need to do the setting in the program individualy. Yu can change encoding for recevied mails but in your case you also do need to do this for mails not yet recevied. It seems that your program is converting Chinese double byte to ascii. (that is normal) As mentioned in earlier post, this can be fixed with free tools like mandarin tools.
