jessitaylor Posted February 23, 2007 at 01:48 PM Report Posted February 23, 2007 at 01:48 PM i did a quick search and couldnt find the answer ... how do i find how much credit i have left on my china unicom simcard - ie is there a text i can send/number i can ring? and do i have to pay to receive calls? on a tangent, i was in the mobile phone shop not understanding a word the shop assistant was saying and just staring at him and he seemed to think my silence was a way of bargaining (ie maybe he thought it was a im not going to ackowledge that price type look) - because then suddenly started dropping prices like the opposite of a one-man auction. when i began to realise what was happening and nervously laughed it seemed to be particularly effective! so get me, the unintentional bargainer, got it for a third of the price without saying a word.ironically was actually more effective then why i used to try and bargain deliberately! banjo67xxx Posted February 24, 2007 at 05:08 PM Report Posted February 24, 2007 at 05:08 PM I can't remember exactly, but its either 10018 or 10012. Surprisingly the voice tells you the available credit in English. AFAIK receiving incomming calls in the city of purchase is free, but as soon as you travel to another city then there are roaming charges. Quote
zhouhana Posted August 23, 2011 at 02:17 AM Report Posted August 23, 2011 at 02:17 AM Calling those numbers did not work for me here in Xiamen. Maybe they're old or maybe they just don't work in my region. Checking your credit is really simple, though: Call 10011 (automatic service; no speaking required), press 2 for English and then 3 for Balance Enquiry. A voice will read your credit to you in English. (The English menu also has the options 1 and 2 for recharging your own or another account. To use those options you first need to buy a recharge (充值, chōng zhí) code at a newsstand or China Unicom store. China Unicom also has a number of text message services. To use them, send a text message to 10011 containing one of the codes listed for your region (select it in the drop-down list) here: http://info2.10010.com/lt/plugin/portal/queryFrontPluginPortalChitCommand.do Quote
dajaphonics Posted November 14, 2012 at 11:44 PM Report Posted November 14, 2012 at 11:44 PM Sorry to hijack this thread but I just bought a China Unicom card that had 30 yuan on it. It initially worked fine making calls. When it ran out of money I added 50 yuan. Now I checked a few days later, having trouble making calls and have 0 yuan. I can receive calls but can no longer make them. Any ideas as to why? Quote
gougou Posted November 15, 2012 at 08:06 AM Report Posted November 15, 2012 at 08:06 AM Are you sure you recharged the card correctly? Did you get a confirmation in the call that the money was added? Quote
dajaphonics Posted November 17, 2012 at 11:46 AM Report Posted November 17, 2012 at 11:46 AM Yeah the automoton said 50rmb was added. I did get my phone fixed in zhongguancun the other week. Is there any way someone could do something shady with sim cards? I hate feeling suspicious and paranoid, but I don't know what else to do. I took it to china unicom and they didn't know what the eff was going on. Quote
