Can someone help me with the character for: Thiều

My grandfather used to tell me that it consisted of four characters: 韶

On a recent trip to Vietnam, a Buddhist monk told me it should be written:

And I have 4 parts to my name.  How do you write it?  Last name on left and first name on right or reverse if written horizontal?

Thanks.

Could someone help me find the translation for Phạm Thế Kha? I know Pham would become Fan, but I'm not sure of The-Kha.

I've never seen hập before in Vietnamese; I would have expected hạp which would be one of several characters, but most likely 合.

Hi, I am a Chinese Brazilian and I am trying to trace my family roots. Unfortunately, I don't speak Chinese nor Vietnamese. My grandfather was Chinese from Guangdong and emigrated to Vietnam. His Chinese name was Shan Chen and was known in Vietnam as Tran Van Thien. I know my last name is 陳 and I am trying to translate Shan or Van Thien into Chinese characters. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Hello! My daugher's Vietnamese first name is My Linh--is there a standard Linh used for this? I'm wondering if it could be 玲 or 靈

Posted

@rayne78 Almost certainly 玲, a common name for females. 靈 isn't used in Chinese in names very often, and in Vietnamese is the linh of linh hồn and linh mục so it's not as common.

Hi, can anyone help me find the characters for Mai Khanh? There are no tones in it.

I was told the meaning meant something like noble or elegant, but I’m not able to translate it well into English. I know Khanh by itself means general or a high ranking person. I’d appreciate it if someone could help, thanks!

I hope there are still some members could help me.

I'm feeling a little bit hard to translate my name to Chinese, and it's important for me because I'm going to study Aboard on Taiwan on next Feb.

My Vietnamese name is Đinh Viết Khoa, some of my friends who learn chinese were already tried to help me but they were not sure about it.

So can you guys help my with this. Many Thanks .
