Guest realmayo Posted October 17, 2017 at 08:19 AM Report Posted October 17, 2017 at 08:19 AM Preceded by a big beaty booming few seconds of musical intro that is still ringing in my ears even though I've not listened to these podcasts for some years. Quote
roddy Posted October 17, 2017 at 08:44 AM Report Posted October 17, 2017 at 08:44 AM 大家好,我是黑米喽! I'm definitely not going to go and find the 北京下土了* one from Antiwave. Or.... oh my god, 胖大海 (sp?). I think I only listened to two of his, as I had to listen to each two dozen times before I could even tell where the words where... *That'd probably get you arrested for anti-China sentiment nowadays. Most of them exist in multiple places (Ximalaya, Apple podcasts, etc.), so search for them with your favorite podcast client. 《原来是这样》- science 《2049科技日报》- science (more difficult to understand than previous podcast), has transcripts 《一天世界》- consumer technology and its intersection with culture 《三十早报》- international news digested down into daily ~5 minute podcasts, has transcripts 《声东击西》- discussion of American news and culture 《太医来了》- health and medical care, recorded by an obstetrician 《文化土豆》- discussions of books, movies, television and other media 《档案揭秘》- history 《逻辑思维》- misc. philosophical and scientific topics, has transcripts, only officially available via an app called 得到 (which has other free and nonfree podcasts and books) 6 7 Quote

I occasionally listen to this podcast, but I haven't noticed them mention what the name of their wechat 公眾號 actually is. Searching 三十早報 doesn't yield any results for me. Nonetheless good podcast resource. Quote

Luxi Posted June 13, 2018 at 03:06 PM Report Posted June 13, 2018 at 03:06 PM Not really a podcast, but this seems the best place to post - feel free to move if there is a more suitable place. Deserves a mention for being beautifully read. Clear, slow, and the language is easy (read with a Beijing accent, sounds a bit strange) Audio-book (有声书) : 老人与海, Chinese translation of Hemingway's (海明威) classic "The Old Man and the Sea", 9 episodes. http://www.ximalaya.com/youshengshu/3423007/ No transcript in Ximalaya, but the text of the Chinese translation is easy to find as e-book or text /pdf files, search for 老人与海. I only found a 2012 series in Ximalaya, spoken in strong Shanghai (I think) accent, but then found the currently running series (spoken in neutral 破童话) in iTunes Podcasts. Do you know whether there is a transcript somewhere? It's not too hard to understand and one can check the daily newspapers to get hold of the story, but it'd be helpful to have a written transcript to extract the vocabulary. You may like this one: http://www.ximalaya.com/toutiao/12580785/ Each episode has an extract of one news item. They're very short (great for repeated listening) and they have transcripts - at least most of them seem to have. More short news podcasts here: http://www.ximalaya.com/zhubo/102403331/ Not all have transcripts 1 Quote

Luxi Posted July 8, 2018 at 11:39 AM Report Posted July 8, 2018 at 11:39 AM Two more podcasts with transcript from Ximalaya - probably best suited to the more literary-inclined among us. 名家散文 (Prose by famous people & Tide Moon) http://www.ximalaya.com/renwen/4831561/ Short readings from diverse prose with transcrips. Sort of inspirational-late-night slant, very relaxing. Tide Moon is the anchor, she has a nice soothing voice and reads very clearly and slowly. http://www.ximalaya.com/renwen/4831561/ 上官文露读书会 (Shanguan Luwen Study Group) Short articles or book passages by Chinese and international authors. Spoken quite fast but sill clear, especially with the transcripts. Shanguan Wenlu is one of CCTV's news anchors. http://www.ximalaya.com/renwen/4775707/ 1 1 Quote
sekkar Posted August 21, 2018 at 06:29 AM Report Posted August 21, 2018 at 06:29 AM I go through 1+ hour of material everyday just walking to and from work everyday so I'm always looking for new stuff. Currently listening to 婊酱 / Bitch up which I find quite enjoyable. The show is basically just two women talking about different sex-related topics. What I like most about it is that you get exposed to a lot of vocab you wouldn't normally encounter as a student. If you study English or Spanish you could learn se- related vocabulary from regular TV-shows, but Chinese TV still seem to be stuck in a Disney cartoon where adults never do anything more intimate than kissing. 1 1 Quote
