Jamoldo Posted March 11, 2007 at 06:54 AM Report Posted March 11, 2007 at 06:54 AM I'm currently studying at Beishida this semester and have been since September 2006. I like it quite a bit and plan to enroll next fall for the academic year. However, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Beishida in the summer. I know there are lots of foreign based summer programs (read: expensive) in Beijing, and I'm trying to keep costs pretty low, and since I know Beishida pretty well and like it, it seems like the ideal place to stay for the summer. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions? Thanks Quote
adrianlondon Posted March 11, 2007 at 04:41 PM Report Posted March 11, 2007 at 04:41 PM If you're going to be learning Mandarin for two solid years, why not spend the Summer doing something else? I think the Summer Program doesn't offer levels (ie you can't say you want a Summer Program to bridge you from 101 to 102). I only know two people who went on the Summer course. I think you've met them Jamoldo; I'll pvt you their names. They said it was ok, but nowhere near as formal (and many of the students weren't as dedicated) as the semester course. Quote
