Chengdu Bird Watching Society will open new yearly birdwatching Competition in 31th March!

Chengdu Bird Watching Society will start its second year's birdwatching competition during 31th March-1st April, the last weekend of March. The teams,usually four members in group and with a bird guide, will mainly be made up from local birder,especially students of schools of Chengdu or members from otherwise cities in Sichuan,China Southwest. Besides, If your staffs interest with our activity ,no matter living outside Chengdu or foreigners working,living or just passing by here in that time all will be welcomed for the Competition! Interested people could contract with us in advance for the arrangement directly before 21 March by our offical mail :cdbirding@yahoo.com.cn. Because this competiton is a non-profit activity with limited sponsored source, so everyone interested should pay only for the none-profitable base expense of 200 Y. This competiton will greatly accelerate the notice of public about the meaning of protecting our living environment,bird,and wildernese as well.

⊙Range：started from Mengyuan hotel , up and down the road about 10km's long , including both sides along the road

⊙itinerary：

31th, March

09：30 arrive in Chengdu Botanical Garden

10：00 opening ceremony

10：30 leave to Qingchenghoushan

13：30 arrive in Mengyuan hotel and have lunch

14：30 the competition begin

19：30 dinner

20：30 communication activity

1st, April

06：30 breakfast

14：30 the end of competition ,

teams put up their results

14：30 for lunch , the examiners evalutate the records

15：00 teams response for the validation

of the records

15：30 closing ceremony

16：00 come back to Chengdu

2、the rules of competition

⊙team scale：4 people in group

⊙record：species which is seen or heard by two member or above in the team at the same time can be recorded. Pet birds, escaping birds cannot be recorded.

⊙time：teams should record within the time of the rule. Those teams beyond the time of summiting records for 10min will be disqualified.

⊙range：teams can move freely in the range of competition.

⊙guide: the guide will help teams to find and identify birds, but should avoid aiding the team with the clue of species.
