你夢想過到世界各地去, 環遊世界, 縱橫天下, 傲遊四方.

You go 東南西北 when you play mahjong.

sounds quite masculine and proud to my ears....

why did you say that?

i am curious. this topic often comes up with chinese men.

it wastes a lot of time, but i am curious why it is important.

i am guessing that gendered norms are not discussed in chinese universities.

your whining souds feminine. :tong

but i am still curious.

i learned cantonese from a girl so i sounded feminine before i learned to speak like REAL MAN.

where can i find the right words for men and right words for women?

so i can sound more MANLY.

thanks.

according to Hparade's logic, you should have learnt cantonese from skylee. don't be angry skylee, i disagree that guy's words.

dont worry about this, learning language from a girl doesnt mean you will speak women's language.

i didn't propose any logic anyway, just the feeling about words

agree or not, some words do have some gender things in it, there are differences in vocab used between men and women ( or masculine/ feminine person), just more or less in different languages.:roll:

There are no male or female specific vocabs in Cantonese, but there are differences in the way they express themselves.

female version:

”咦~~~唔好咁啦“ (yeeee, stop)

“好衰嘎你!” (you are bad)

“哇!好得意呀!” (wah! so cute!)

male version:

"喂,咪咁啦“

”有冇搞错呀你“

“哇!好鬼得意喎”
