I've been listening to a really addictive track called [pop=strawberry/cǎoméi]草莓[/pop][pop=logic/luóji]邏輯[/pop] from Beijing-based 灰燼周三 hui1 jin4 zhou1 san1 (Ashes on Wednesday), which I want to recommend here for anyone who likes indie. Unusually they have a female drummer (haha, 這是什麽時代?) ...and they're originally from Sichuan so it goes without saying thay they must be: a. more beautiful than any other Chinese people (does this apply to guys as well??) and b. able to [pop=eat/chī]吃[/pop][pop=hot spicy/là]辣[/pop]. Even though they might have the twin blessings of being beautiful and being able to "chi la", luckily enough it hasn't precluded them from creating quite dark, melancholy and gorgeous music. It's still fairly low-key though, with possible Radiohead or Muse influences.

Baidu search-草莓邏輯 (click on 试听 to listen).

They have released one eponymous EP so far, which you listen to on their myspace:

No lyrics so far, unless anyone here could provide them.

Thanks, rose, I really like this song -- of course I can't understand the words, but the music is sublime.
