yonitabonita Posted March 23, 2007 at 10:40 AM Report Posted March 23, 2007 at 10:40 AM Hi folks, I keep spraining my ankle and it's time I do something about strengthening it. Does anyone know where I can locate a wobble board in Beijing? It's a bit of a long shot, but one never knows. cheers, Y Quote
againstwind Posted March 23, 2007 at 01:07 PM Report Posted March 23, 2007 at 01:07 PM Hi, Yonnie Haven't the doctor given you a wobble board? Or have you ever been to some private Chinese medicine clinic? Quote
onebir Posted March 24, 2007 at 12:40 PM Report Posted March 24, 2007 at 12:40 PM There's a big big sports equipment store on Wangfujing - they had stuff like that in the basement when I went in there last autumn. I also read there's a Decathlon opening somewhere, that'd be worth checking for something of the wobble board genre. But you could probably strengthen your ankle & the arch of the foot by standing on one leg and moving your arms &/ free leg around. The faster you move them, the harder it is to balance. Also worth considering tai chi. Good luck anyway! Quote
roddy Posted March 26, 2007 at 04:46 AM Report Posted March 26, 2007 at 04:46 AM Tricky one. Wobble board seems to be 球底板 or 平衡版?Can't find anywhere that seems to sell them. I might be inclined to try on campus or nearby the Sports University, but it's a bit of a trek without any definite leads. There's this beidajiaoyu.com/news/shop/list.asp?id=282 (got a security alert on that page, hence not linking it), but it looks like it's for kids. Quote
