Rincewind Posted March 26, 2007 at 11:11 AM Report Posted March 26, 2007 at 11:11 AM I live in a small city in the north east. While I can get most western food here, there are a few specialist items I cannot get here. I am going for a short business trip to Shanghai and want to get somethings while I am there. However, time is short. I won't have time to search and browse. So I need some advice as to exactly which shop(s) may stock what I am after. Here's my brief shopping list Paprika powder Coriander seed powder Dried herbs (e.g. basil, sage, rosemary) Nutmeg Worcester Sauce If anyone can tell me the name of a shop in Shanghai that stocks these items, I would appreciate it very much. gato Posted March 26, 2007 at 01:03 PM Report Posted March 26, 2007 at 01:03 PM See this list of Westerner-oriented supermarkets in Shanghai. Don't know if they'll have everything you need, but should have most. I don't cook, so don't go to the supermarket much. http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai/listings/shopping/supermarkets/ Quote
yonitabonita Posted March 28, 2007 at 09:08 AM Report Posted March 28, 2007 at 09:08 AM Hi, I think your best bet is to head straight to the nearest Carrefour supermarket. There are several Carrefours around, just find the one closest to you. I get all my cooking herbs from Carrefour and have found their prices to be just about the most competitive around. The fact that you can pick everything up in the one place is a bonus too. Good luck. y Quote
