Analyze your Chinese Handwriting

Completely randomly happened across this while searching for something else - Samples of Chinese handwriting and analysis. Of interest to anyone who wants to take a look at a number of different samples of handwritten Chinese (seems to be 50+, haven't counted) and see what the experts thought of their character.

A lot of them are pretty difficult to read, but this is one of the more legible ones. Unfortunately the writer is very dull

I looked through most of the 1st and 2nd pages of samples. Found one that kind of looked like mine, then read the description and think it might work out, but my writing still looks so dratted non-native to me, and I can still see how my English writing influences how i write my characters.

I used to get into handwriting analysis when i was in HS, (Eng, of course) This was during my astrology phase. So much of your handwriting supposedly expresses your character, and I know that when I operate in Chinese, my disposition is different. There is much more impatience and anxiety, and just a whole heck of a lot less confidence. In following with that switch in personality - or at least demeanor - it seems that my CHinese handwriting should reflect different aspects of my personality from what a similar analysis in English would show.

My Chinese handwriting is horrible - or so I think. But, I often have people tell me that mine is better than theirs.

I think the reason is simple... I write the way it's taught in the books. My characters are obviously the work of a Chinese learner. Whereas, natives write in a quicker, more natural, way.

The opposite is true of my English penmanship. My English writing is a mish-mash of cursive, printing, and shorthand. Basically, it's what you might expect from someone that has been writing English for 30+ years.

I'd been looking for a thread on Chinese hand-writing and found this one. Admittedly, most things I try and read are typed, but having found it so difficult to read proper hand-writing, I thought I'd try and find out something about different styles. It only takes one slight difference and I'll be staring at the character for ages to work it out. I would imagine that the majority of foreign learners have a style which closely resembles typed characters as they've learned their characters from books.

On a more urgent matter, how come when searching through older threads, I've never heard of most of the posters? Where do they all go? Do they give up Chinese and return to the normal world , or just find this forum can't help them any longer (surely not?)

Old thread! Let's take a look at the pseudoscience. None of the samples' quick handwriting looks like mine, but this person's 楷書 looks sort of like mine, but only compared to the others. Taken alone, I'd still say it's not even close.
