Yes, any bank. No they do not accept US dollars at most restaurants and markets. It comes out as Chinese RMBs. Quote

I dunno about guangdong, but it beijing it's relatively easy to find an "illegal" exchange station...it's kind of ghetto, but the exchange rate you get is better. Just ask some foreign students in guangdong and any other foreigners, if they know of a place like that...if they have exchanged money therw without problems - it should not be risky, just check the money you are getting for watermarks...
