johnenglish Posted April 12, 2007 at 04:25 PM Report Posted April 12, 2007 at 04:25 PM I am an English teacher, currently giving support to a Mandarin-speaking teenage boy who has only been learning English for a few months. We are following the English National Curriculum in science, maths and geography. What would help me in preparing simplified [bi-lingual] materialsfor him is to have study aids or text books for school students following a Chinese course in these subjects, from ages 7 to, say, 16. An alternative (or supplement) would be an encyclopedia (preferably for children) on CD-ROM. Educational websites would also be a possibility. Do you have anyone you could ask who might be able to suggest something? My Chinese is simply not fast enough or good enough for me to spend surfing the web in Chinese. This is where you could help a (heavily-overloaded) teacher! Even if you can't help, thanks for this reading so far...! Quote
