shivan Posted April 16, 2007 at 07:56 AM Report Posted April 16, 2007 at 07:56 AM I having a little difficulty finding a chinese equivilant to the word later. All i can think of is 然后 but it does not seem optimal. Usually I think the ....以后 conctruction would be used. My problem is that I have a sentece thats starts with "later" as in: "Later they took it back" Can anyone give me the word? Quote
againstwind Posted April 17, 2007 at 04:33 AM Report Posted April 17, 2007 at 04:33 AM I think there are a lot of options, such as 稍后, 随后, 之后, 然后, 后来 and 以后. Quote

atitarev Posted April 18, 2007 at 03:01 AM Report Posted April 18, 2007 at 03:01 AM 回头见 (回頭見) huítóu jiàn - See you later! Quote
Luoman Posted September 10, 2007 at 04:12 PM Report Posted September 10, 2007 at 04:12 PM I think, 回头见 is used in northern China, and a more neutral variant would be 回见. Quote

amego Posted September 23, 2007 at 09:33 AM Report Posted September 23, 2007 at 09:33 AM "I'll be back later." "我等一下才回来。" deng3 yi4 xia4 --->>> dei2 xia4 (spoken) Quote
DrZero Posted September 23, 2007 at 03:44 PM Report Posted September 23, 2007 at 03:44 PM I think the concepts of "and then ...," "after," and "later" get a little mixed in Chinese. I think the best translations of "later" are "guo yihuir" and "deng yihuir." Quote
