Chinese word for "later"?

I having a little difficulty finding a chinese equivilant to the word later.

All i can think of is 然后 but it does not seem optimal.

Usually I think the ....以后 conctruction would be used.

My problem is that I have a sentece thats starts with "later" as in:

"Later they took it back"

Can anyone give me the word?

I think there are a lot of options, such as 稍后, 随后, 之后, 然后, 后来 and 以后.

I think, 回头见 is used in northern China, and a more neutral variant would be 回见.

I think the concepts of "and then ...," "after," and "later" get a little mixed in Chinese. I think the best translations of "later" are "guo yihuir" and "deng yihuir."
