Information on Tsinghua U.: elective courses, kungfu, etc

I have yet to apply to Tsinghua University..., but I would like to be well prepared since now.

If anyone knows, please help me solve my doubts... thanks.

1) How much do elective courses cost per term?

2) How many elective courses can I take per term?

3) Is the Kung fu in the martial arts elective course: wushu or traditional kung fu?

4) In case they teach wushu there, what are some great places to learn traditional kung fu (if possible, near the site).

5) Are the university canteens in TsHU cheap? How much does the standard meal cost?

6) If I were to figure out my living (day-to-day) expenses would run out before than planned (5 months). Is there a way to find a kind of not illegal job I can do? (as I think it depends on the visa you have). Putting it in other words: a suitable source of income?

Could teaching english or spanish be a good source of momentary income?

Many thanks again to anyone who helps out. Every ounce of help is welcome.

The electives are around 300-400 RMB each. Usually for 8-12 lessons, and most of them are taught in Chinese. You can't take most of them unless you speak basic Chinese, and some electives needs even more then basic level.

Since the electives are on different days, you can take couple of electives.

As far as I know, the Kungfu is WuShu. But since the elective is only 10-12 lessons, maybe you would rather take it somewhere else, more intensive one. When you're in Beijing, try to find out. Donno know much about it.

Canteens - for 5RMB you can have a good meal. You can eat for less of course, in case you're vegetarian...

Check it out in the other forums, there is much information about it.

Do elective courses cost? Or it's only for foreign students the case?

I've been in that univ. for 4 years, and the elective courses don't cost any so long as you are able to select them on internet (couse selection system).

It sounds like you graduated in Tsinghua in a certain department, so I guess the electives are

different from those the language program offers.

You also don't choose them on the internet, you just go to the office and pay.
