Any materials on Pre-War Japanese Kanji 漢字 Usage?

Can anyone refer me to any online materials on Pre-War Japanese Kanji 漢字 usage?

Is there an online pre-War orthography Japanese dictionary?

I am interested in learning the Kanji used in pre-War documents and maps, and in particular, place names like those occupied by Japan during World War II. For example, Japanese occupied Singapore was renamed "Shounan" 昭南 but is today known to the Japanese as "Shingapouru" シンガポール. Maybe someone could refer me to some websites that have maps used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II, that would also help. Is there any online resources to help with all of this. If anyone could refer me to some websites that could help me would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
